Traffic in The Hague takes experience

The Hague is not an easy city to learn to drive in. Trams often have right of way, cyclists come from every direction and many streets in the centre are narrow or one-way. That is why we practise exactly where you will be driving yourself, and where the CBR will take you during your test.

Trams and cyclists

There are trams and cyclists all over the city. You learn to look ahead, judge right of way correctly and stay calm at busy junctions.

The city centre

Narrow streets, one-way traffic and parking between other cars. In neighbourhoods such as the Zeeheldenkwartier and around the Haagse Markt you practise this step by step.

Motorway and merging

Via the Utrechtsebaan and Prins Clausplein you learn to merge, exit and drive at higher speeds. Only when you are ready.

Test at CBR Rijswijk

You take your driving test at the CBR in Rijswijk, right next to The Hague. Before your test we drive the routes in the area together.

Trial lesson

Your trial lesson is scheduled within 1 hour of your request. Afterwards you know how many hours you need and what it costs.

Weekly lessons

Each week you plan what suits you, 7 days a week between 08:00 and 21:00. Your instructor picks you up in The Hague.

Interim test

Halfway through, a CBR examiner drives with you. That way we both know whether you are on track.

Driving test

You take your driving test at the CBR in Rijswijk. With our fast track this is usually possible within 20 days. Beforehand we drive the test routes together.

Driving lessons in The Hague: questions and answers

Where do I take my driving test?

At the CBR in Rijswijk, the test centre for The Hague and the surrounding area. On a regular track the waiting time is usually seven to eight weeks. With our fast track you can usually take your test within 20 days.

Do you pick me up anywhere in The Hague?

Yes. Anywhere in The Hague we pick you up wherever suits you: at home, at school or at work. You pay nothing extra for this.

Can I take lessons in English in The Hague?

Yes, at no extra charge. Many internationals in The Hague take the full course with us in English, including the theory explanations. If you have a foreign licence, we first explain whether you can exchange it.

Do we also drive outside The Hague?

Yes. You first learn to drive in the city and then also on the motorway and in the surrounding area, such as Rijswijk and Voorburg. That way you are prepared for anything you might encounter during your test.

How much do driving lessons in The Hague cost?

A single 60-minute lesson costs €72.50 (manual) or €82.50 (automatic). With a package you pay less per hour. On the prices page you can calculate straight away what your driving licence will cost in total.
